Connecticut Hospitality Awareness Training Program

Connecticut Hospitality Awareness Training, or CHAT for short, is an ambitious program developed by the Connecticut Tourism Coalition to train frontline personnel who work at attractions, lodging establishments, restaurants and other businesses that make up the Connecticut tourism industry. CHAT is Connecticut’s first online training program to educate workers on the fundamentals of hospitality service and the significance of tourism to our economy.

The CHAT program provides the knowledge and resources needed to improve hospitality practices in the tourism and services industry. CHAT will help instill you with the skills and passion to do the best at your job. The program is a mix of engaging tourism scenarios, tips on excelling in the guest service industry, and a short quiz to test you on what you’ve learned! These lessons will help reinforce important concepts needed to help you develop and grow your foundation in hospitality services.

There are seven modules in the CHAT program. Each covers a different aspect of working in the hospitality industry. CHAT will help everyone in Connecticut create positive visitor experiences. Whether you are someone who works directly with visitors or someone who might encounter a guest in the course of your work, CHAT is sure to benefit you.

Learn what makes Connecticut so special and unique!

The great part about the CHAT curriculum is that you can come and go at your own pace! You can always return if you need a break! Take notes while enjoying the modules and return to your notes and our resources tab during the quiz section of CHAT. The quiz section is a few short questions that will help to understand how well the program has prepared you for work in the hospitality industry.

Once you have successfully completed the quiz section of CHAT, you will be awarded a certificate that you will be able to use when applying for employment. You will also be able to show your certificate of achievement to your employer to showcase your growth and accomplishments!

The cost for the CHAT program is $10. When you register you will automatically be able to start on the course and embark on your journey!

Once the course is completed with a passing grade, a certificate will be mailed within 2-3 weeks.
